Excavator: Ground. Sladen (1897) described the species as forming very local nesting aggregations. Further details of its nesting behaviour and immature stages appear to be unknown.
The nests are constructed in sandy soils in warm, dry and open places (Mavromoustakis)
The social status of this species is not known.
