Hylaeus (Lambdopsis) annularis (Kirby, 1802)

Renter: Existing cavities. Nests in existing cavities (eg beetle emergence holes) or Ground nester.

There is only a single nest record for Britain. In August, 1981 M. Edwards (pers. comm.) observed a female entering a burrow in loose sand (Marram Grass, Arenaria maritima zone) on the dunes at Camber Sands, East Sussex.

In France, Janvier (1972a) describes the species as nesting in the dead stems of Rubus, Eryngium and Vitis.
