A Mason. Mavromoustakis (1938, 1951) states that the species builds exposed nests on large stones.He found a nest, near Paramytha, in April attached to shrub of Sarcopoterium sanguisorba (as Sanguisorba spinosa).
Roberts, Varnava & Dorchin (pers. obs. 2017) found clusters of brood cells attached to flat limestone rocks. These numbered from 2-13 cells per cluster. One brood cell had small stone fragments set into the lid of the cell
