The species is a social parasite of Bombus hortorum, and possibly also Bombus hypnorum (Løken, 1984). Peeters, Raemakers & Smit (1999) also cite Bombus ruderatus as a host.
Celary (1989) cites Bombus hortorum, B. hypnorum and B. pratorum as hosts.
