Cleptoparasitic: Hosts; This species appears to attack several species in the Andrena varians group as follows: A. armata (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g; Yarrow, 1941b; Spooner, 1946; Guichard & Yarrow, 1948; Chambers, 1949; Gusenleitner, 1985; Paxton & Pohl, 1999), A. varians (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g; Yarrow, 1941b; Chambers, 1949), A. lapponica (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g); A. fucata (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g, 1923), A. helvola (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g, 1923; Yarrow, 1941b; Spooner, 1946) and A. synadelpha (R.C.L. Perkins, 1923; Yarrow, 1941b). V.R. Perkins (in Witchell & Strugnell, 1892) cites A. scotica (as A. trimmerana) as a host, but this is unlikely and requires confirmation. The form attacking A. fulva is sometimes found in company with N. signata (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g). Probably also A. rogenhoferi.Smit (2018) summarises the position on the continent.
