Hoplitis (Anthocopa) mocsaryi (Friese, 1895)

Excavator: ground. The females construct their nests in the soil (ca. 5cm deep) with up to four ramifications containing 1-2 cells each.

Nesting material: The nests are linear, and the walls and partitions are constructed of petals of Linum flavum and Linum hirsutum (Linaceae). Sometimes a thin wall of mud is built between adjacent cells. The nest entrances are not closed by a nest plug, but remain open. (Banaszak and Romasenko, 2001; Westrich, 1989; A. Müller, personal observation; Müller & Richter, 2018).
