Renter: Existing cavities: The nests are built in various existing cavities, eg. insect burrows in dead wood and pithy stems (e.g. Asphodelus) excavated by other aculeates (e.g. Ceratina) or abandoned nests of aculeate hymenoptera in clay walls (Alfken 1928; Torres et al. 1997; Amiet et al. 2004; G. Le Goff personal communication; A. Müller unpublished data). The nests contain up to nine linearly arranged brood cells (Müller, 2018)

Nesting material: Cell partitions and nest plug are made of mud, sometimes mixed with particles of pith. (Amiet et al., 2004; Popovici-Baznosanu, 1909; G. Le Goff, personal observation; , 2018).
