Excavator: Ground. Females prefer to construct their nests in firm ground (Celary & Wisniowski, 2003). Nests may be constructed in clay pits, quarries and loessic deposits in fertile meadows, grassy swards and on forest margins (Celary & Wisniowski, 2003)
