Hoplitis (Hoplitis) anthocopoides (Schenck, 1853)

Renter: Existing cavities. In walls and in both small and large stones. Each nest will contain between 1-33 brood cells. The cell partitions are made of sand and small stones. Although the species is essentially solitary, several may nest together in suitable crevices. Nests contain 1-33, mostly 3-8 cells. (Westrich, 1989).

Nesting material: Entire cells are made from rather coarse pebbles cemented together with mud. The nest is covered by an outer coat of mud and small pebbles.
