Sphecodes reticulatus THOMSON, 1870

Cleptoparasitic: Hosts; The host remains unconfirmed, but it is very probable that more than one species is attacked. On heathlands in Hampshire and Dorset females have been observed in the vicinity of nest burrows of Lasioglossum prasinum (pers. obs.), thus supporting E. Saunders' (1896a) view that this species may be its host. However, this halictine is not present in other habitats in which the cleptoparasite has been found and in these some other host is clearly involved. In a Berkshire locality, Richards (1944) considered the second brood of Andrena dorsata to be the host there, whereas in Devon, R.C.L. Perkins (1919) suggested A. argentata, a species (along with the possibility of A. flavipes) also recorded by Richards (1979) as the apparent host in the Channel Islands (Else & Edwards, 2018).

In Europe, F.K. Stöckhert (1933) lists A. argentata and A. barbilabris as possibilities, but doubts the L. prasinum association. These suggestions are repeated in Celary (1991).
