Cleptoparasitic: Hosts; Macropis europaea is known as the host of the cleptoparasite Epeoloides coecutiens Stöckhert (1933, 1954). Westrich (1990) suggested that the related species, Macropis fulvipes (Fabricius, 1804), was another likely host. This species was also considered as a confirmed host (Bogusch, 2005). This host data is summarised by Westrich (2018).
Epeoloides coecutiens will only invade host nests that are in dry and warm sites. (Bogusch, 2005)
