Cleptoparasitic: Hosts; Colletes merceti is likely the host of this species; a large series of C. merceti has been recently collected at two sites around Tabernas in the south of Spain, together with E. aureovestitus. However, C. merceti is endemic of two regions in the south of Spain, so Portuguese populations probably parasitize nests of different species (Bogusch & Hadrava, 2018)
