Cleptoparasitic: Hosts; A cleptoparasite of Halictus rubicundus (e.g. Hallett, 1928; R.C.L. Perkins, 1945; G.M. Spooner, pers. comm.). In Devon, R.C.L. Perkins (G M. Spooner, pers. comm.) reported the species present at a nesting aggregation of H. maculatus, a possible host on the continent (F.K. Stöckhert, 1933). Another possible host is Lasioglossum malachurum (F.K. Stöckhert, 1933; Else & Edwards, 2018)
Celary (1991) lists Halictus quadricinctus, H. rubicundus, H. sexcinctus, H. maculatus and Lasioglossum malachurum as hosts.
The variation in size of this cleptoparasite in Britain probably indicates a choice of more than one host species.
