Probably oligolectic on Fabaceae (Scheuchl & Willner, 2016). Banaszak & Romasenko (1989), copied by Stanisavljević (2000) state that the species is associated with Lotus corniculatus and Hippocrepis comosa (Fabaceae) and suggest that the species is probably oligolectic on Fabaceae. Reported to visit Mentha (Lamiaceae) in Spain (Ortiz-Sanchez et al., 2012)
Males of the species are known to be responsible for the pollination of the sexually deceptive orchid Ophrys catalaunica (Orchidaceae)(Vereecken, N.J. & Patiny, S., 2005).
