Oligolectic: Scabiosa columbaria, Scabiosa ochroleuca, Scabiosa canescens, Knautia arvensis and Succisa pratensis (Dipsacaceae) (Westrich, 1989).
Michez (2004) lists: Scabiosa columbaria (Dipsacaceae). In addition to this, it is also recorded from Carduus sp., Centaurea jacea, Onopordon sp. (Asteraceae); Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae); Jasione sp. (Campanulaceae); Cephalaria leucantha, Knautia arvensis (Dipsacaeae); Armeria maritima (Plumbaginaceae).
In the Pyrenees, all populations were noted visiting solely Scabiosa atropurpurea (Dipsacaceae).
Celary (2005) states that vthe species is narrowly oligolectic, closely associated with Scabiosa (Dipsacaceae), and in Poland, almost exclusively to Scabiosa ochroleuca and Scabiosa columbaria. Sometimes the species may be found visiting Knautia arvensis, and gathering nectar from Centaurea stoebe, Crepis tectorum (Asteraceae); Jasione montana (Campanulaceae) and Succisa pratensis (Dipsacaceae).
Grace (2010) lists: Scabiosa columbaria and S. atropurpurea (Dipsacaceae). This bee also visits Carduus spp., Centaurea jacea (Asteraceae); Knautia arvensis, Cephalaria leucantha(Dipsacaceae); Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae) and Armeria maritima (Plumbaginaceae).
