Polylectic: Pollen records not available for the British Isles, though the species is presumed to be polylectic.

In Germany, foraging from species in the families Asteraceae, Brassicaceae, Campanulaceae, Dipsacaceae, Fabaceae, Geraniaceae, Ranunculaceae, Rosaceae and Salicaceae (Westrich, 1989).

Flowers visited: Ranunculus (Ranunculaceae); Helianthemum chamaecistus (Cistaceae); Ulex (Fabaceae); Rubus, Prunus (Rosaceae); Oenanthe, Foeniculum vulgare, Angelica, Pastinaca sativa, Daucus (Apiaceae); Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae); Salix repens (Salicaceae); Calluna vulgaris (Ericaceae); Menyanthes (Gentianaceae); Scabiosa, Succisa pratensis (Dipsacaceae); Senecio jacobaeae, Pulicaria dysenterica, Aster, Achillea, Matricaria, Tanacetum vulgare, Cirsium arvense, Cirsium vulgare, Centaurea, Leontodon, Taraxacum (Asteraceae)

Pawlikowski & Kruszynski (1997) list Potentilla arenaria (Rosaceae) as a forage source in Poland

An important pollinator of orchard crops, Lucerne (Medicago sativa) (Fabaceae)and some other entomophilous cultivated plants. (Pesenko, Banaszak et al., 2000)
