Possibly mesolectic on Fabaceae and Boraginaceae (Echium, Anchusa) (A. Müller, unpublished, based on 5 pollen samples from 5 different localities). The females possess long and curved bristles on the tarsi of their forelegs, which probably serve to extract pollen from narrow-tubed flowers, e.g. Anchusa (A. Müller, unpublished).
Mavromoustakis (1948; 1951; 1952; 1953) reports visitation to Onosma fruticosum, Anchusa hybrida (Boraginaceae); Bellevalia trifoliata (=Hyacinthus trifoliatus)(Hyacinthaceae).
