Polylectic with a preference for Fabaceae; other pollen sources include Echium (Boraginaceae), Lamiaceae and Plantaginaceae (Antirrhineae) (A. Müller, unpublished, based on 21 pollen samples from 13 different localities). The females possess curved bristles on the clypeus, which are most probably used to comb pollen from the nototribic anthers of Lamiaceae and Plantaginaceae (Antirrhineae) (A. Müller, unpublished).
