Eoanthidium (Eoanthidium) insulare (Morawitz, 1873)

A polylectic species (Muller, 1996).

Mavromoustakis (1960) lists Centaurea (Asteraceae) and Thymus (=Coridothymus) capitatus (Lamiaceae) as forage sources on Rhodos. Mavromoustakis (1948; 1953) reports visitation to Vitex agnus-casti, Teucrium divaricatum, Teucrium cyprium, Nepeta troodi, Mentha longifolia (Lamiaceae); Cirsium chamaepeuce camptolepis, Carduus sp. (Asteraceae); Rubus ulmifolius anatolicus (Rosaceae) on Cyprus.

Also listed from Thymbra spicata, Thymus capitatus (Lamiaceae) (Melissotheque; UoAegean)

Pollen analysis (Muller, 1996) revealed the following pollen sources: Papaveraceae, Brassicaceae, Rosaceae, Fabaceae, Cistaceae, Boraginaceae, Lamiaceae, Scrophulariaceae and Asteraceae.
