Oligolectic on Asteraceae; host plants include members of the Cichorioideae, the Carduoideae and the Asteroideae (Amiet et al., 2004; A. Müller, unpublished, based on 48 pollen samples from 31 different localities and on field observations).
There are records of this species foraging at Silybum marianum, Carduus pycnocephalus ssp. albidus and Chrysanthemum coronarium (Asteraceae).
