Osmia (Allosmia) rufohirta Latreille, 1811

A polylectic species (Banaszak & Romasenko (1998) with a preference for Fabaceae (e.g. Hippocrepis comosa, Lotus corniculatus, Onobrychis viciifolia); other pollen sources include Asteraceae (Asteroideae, Carduoideae and Cichorioideae), Brassicaceae, Cistaceae (e.g. Helianthemum nummularium), Campanulaceae, Boraginaceae (e.g. Echium), Convolvulaceae and Lamiaceae (Amiet et al., 2004; Müller et al., 1997; Westrich, 1989; A. Müller, unpublished, based on 31 pollen samples from 23 different localities).

Data gathered from specimens and observations list the following forage species: Centaurium tenuiflorum (Gentianaceae); Echium plantagineum (Boraginaceae); Crepis commutata, Hippocrepis biflora, Ononis ornithopodioides (Fabaceae); Gagea graeca (Liliaceae).

Fateryga (2017) reports females foraging at Hedysarum tauricum (Fabaceae) in the Krasnodar region of the North Caucasus (Russia).
