Halictus (Halictus) sajoi BLÜTHGEN, 1923

This is almost certainly a polylectic species (Marikovskaya, 1984) ,

Ebmer (1969) lists Centaurea, and yellow-flowered Asteraceae. Marikovskaya (1984) lists visitation to the following plants in Kazakhstan: In the Kotur-Bulak gorge. H. sajoi females were collected from flowers from a number of different families: 7-8 July at Centaurea ruthenica (Asteraceae); Echium rubrum (Boraginaceae) and Veronica longifolia (Plantaginaceae). On 14 July with Centaurea kasakorum and Inula helenica (Asteraceae); on 23 July at Lotus corniculatus (Fabaceae) and on 18 September on Cichorium intybus (Asteraceae); In the foothills of the Trans-Ili Altai (SE and SW Kaskelen): in early May on flowers of Malus (Rosaceae), Pisum (Fabaceae) and Allium cepa (Alliaceae). On 14 June on Trifolium repens (Fabaceae). In the botanical gardens in Ama-Ata in late May the species was found on the flowers of Rubus fruticosus agg. (Rosaceae) and Trifolium pratense (Fabaceae); in July on Echium (Boraginaceae) and Centaurea squarrosa (Asteraceae), in August and September again at Centaurea squarrosa (Asteraceae).
