Polylectic: known to forage from Fabaceae and Lamiaceae.

Mueller (1996) states that this is a polylectic species, with a strong preference for Papilionoideae (Fabaceae) pollen. Pollen analysis (Muller, 1996) revealed the following pollen sources: Fabaceae with smaller amounts of Lamiaceae and Plantaginaceae

Stanisavljević, 2000, copying Banaszak & Romasenko,1998 lists Anchusa officinalis and Echinospermum deflexum (Boraginaceae).

Mavromoustakis (1948; 1951; 1952) reports visitation to Ononis sp. Lotus sp., Calycotome villosa (Fabaceae); Mentha longifolia, Marrubium vulgare apolum, Satureja incana, Vitex agnus-castus, Teucrium polium micropodioides (Lamiaceae); Linaria elatine (Plantaginaceae); Calycotome villosa (Fabaceae); Echium sericeum (Boraginaceae); Limonium (=Statice)(Plumbaginaceae)
