Oligolectic: Dipsacaceae (Pesenko in Banaszak, 1995), especially Knautia arvensis and Scabiosa columbaria. Pekkarinen (1998) lists only Knautia (Dipsacaceae) as a pollen source in Finland.
T. Petanidou (in litt. ) recorded the species at flowers of Scabiosa atropurpurea (Dipsacaceae) and Standfuss et al. (2011) suggest visitation to Knautia integrifolia (Dipsacaceae) in Greece
Peeters & Reemer (2003) additionally state that the species will visit Centaurea (Asteraceae) in the Netherlands.
Tomozei (2014), citing others, states that the species is strictly oligolectic, and the females mainly collect pollen from flowers of Knautia arvensis and occasionally from Scabiosa (Dipsacaceae) species (Osytshnjuk 1977, Osythsnjuk et al. 2005).
