Broadly oligolectic: on certain Asteraceae, as in Germany (Westrich, 1989) and the Netherlands (Peeters, Raemakers & Smit, 1999) and Russia (Pesenko in Banaszak, 1995). Senecio jacobaea is apparently the only confirmed British record.
Müller & Kuhlmann (2008) list as pollen sources: Asteroideae and Cichorioideae (Asteraceae) based on 33 pollen loads from 26 different localities.
In Spain, it is known to visit Rosaceae, Apiaceae, Lamiaceae and Asteraceae (Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez, 2004)
