Probably Mesolectic. Known to visit the flowers of Eryngium campestre (Apiaceae).
Pesenko in Banaszak (1995) states that this species is a narrow oligolege on Eryngium (Apiaceae). Gogala (2011) lists Eryngium amethystinum (Apiaceae) as a forage source in Slovenia
Andrena nuptialis has two generations. The first generation collects pollen on Prunus domestica, Malus sp., and Cerasus sp. (Rosaceae) and The second generation collects pollen on Eryngium campestre (Apiaceae).
