An oligolectic species, specialising in Brassicaceae (Pesenko in Banaszak, 1995). Mavromoustakis lists Hirschfeldtia (Brassicaceae) as a forage source in Cyprus.
Principal forage sources listed as Brassicaceae (Cardaria draba, Erysimum, Brassica, Sinapis, Erucastrum, Sisymbrium, Barbarea), although it is also found on Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbia gerardiana, Euphorbia agraria), Fabaceae (Robinia pseudoacacia, Vicia villosa, Trifolium repens), Boraginaceae (Echium italicum), Convolulaceae (Convolvulus arvensis) and Asteraceae species (Crepis foetida) (Kocourek 1966, Osytshnjuk 1977, Dylewska 1987).
