Ceratina (Euceratina) chalcites Germar, 1839

Polylectic: Subspecies assoroensis has only been observed visiting Onopordum illyricum (Asteraceae) and Stachys cretica (Lamiaceae).

The nominate subspecies is recorded visiting a wide range of flowers: Eryngium campestre (Apiaceae); Carduus litigiosus, Centaurea aspera, C. calcitrapa, C. orientalis, C. paniculata, C. solstitialis, Cichorium sp., Galactites tomentosa (Asteraceae); Anchusa sp., Echium plantagineum (Boraginaceae); Jasione sp.(Campanulaceae); Cephalaria leucantha, Scabiosa atropurpurea(Dipasacaceae); Euphorbia segetalis (Euphorbiaceae); Lavandula angustifolia, Lavandula stoechas, Origanum vulgare, Teucrium sp.(Lamiaceae); Muscari comosum (Liliaceae); Malva sylvestris (Malvaceae); Jasminum fructicans (Oleaceae); Ailanthus sp.(Simaroubaceae).

In the Italian Alps, Friese, (1926) observed what was probably the nominate form visiting Carduus crispus (Asteraceae) and Centaurea arenaria (Asteraceae).

In Spain, Espeso & Gayubo (1988) have also recorded the nominate subspecies at flowers of Ruta montana (Rutaceae); and Heras & Gayubo (1989) on Cynara scolymus (Asteraceae) and Rubus sp. (Rosaceae). PĂ©rez-Inigo Mora (1982) reports visits to Carlina sp. (Asteraceae) and Thapsia sp. (Apiaceae).

In Ukraine, Pesenko (1974) cites Onopordum acanthium (Asteraceae).

D. Genoud (pers. comm) has found males nectaring at Dorycnium pentaphyllum (Fabaceae) in France.

In Slovenia, Gogala (2009) reports visits to Cirsium pannonicum (Asteraceae)
