Eucera (Eucera) nigrescens PÉREZ, 1879

Oligolectic on Fabaceae. Pollen sources in Britain not known. Pesenko in Banaszak (1995) states that this is an oligolectic species, specialising in Fabaceae.

In Germany on Fabaceae, foraging from Medicago sativa, Trifolium pratense, T. repens, Vicia cracca, V. sepium, Lathyrus pratensis (Westrich, 1989).

Bournérias & Prat (2005) have shown that Ophrys scolopax (Orchidaceae) in southern France is pollinated by patrolling males of Eucera (Eucera) nigrescens which pseudocopulate with the labellum of the flower.

Vereecken, Risch & Cortis (2007) (citing Kullenberg (1973)) state that the medium-flowered and early flowering Ophrys scolopax (Orchidaceae) in southern France is pollinated by patrolling males of Eucera (Eucera) nigrescens which pseudocopulate with the labellum of the flower.
