As this is a cleptoparasitic species, all flower visits will be for nectar only.

On the Isle of Wight, specimens have been found visiting Smyrnium olusatrum (Apiaceae) and Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae) In Devon, G.M. Spooner collected a specimen from Oenanthe (Apiaceae) and in Somerset, S.P.M Roberts collected specimens from flowers of Anthriscus sylvestris (Apiaceae).

Celary (1995) and Celary & Wisniowski (2001) list the following plant species as nectar sources: Euphorbia cyparissias (Euphorbiaceae); Ranunculus acris (Ranunculaceae); Frangula alnus (Rhamnaceae); Aegopodium podagraria (Apiaceae); Veronica chamaedrys (Scrophulariaceae); Bellis perennis, Erigeron annuus (Asteraceae).

Smit (2004) lists Aegopodium podagraria (Apiaceae) as a nectar source
