Megachile (Megachile) lapponica THOMSON, 1872

Pollen sources not known but possibly Polylectic with a strong preference for Epilobium (Onagraceae).

Flowers visited: It seems to be particularly associated with Chamerion angustifolium (Onagraceae)(Niemelä, 1934, 1936; Vegter, 1960, 1961; van der Zanden, 1982); Lefeber has collected it only from this species. It also visits Frangula alnus (Rhamnaceae) Lotus corniculatus (Fabaceae); Rubus (Rosaceae) (van der Zanden, 1982), Trifolium, Vicia cracca, Lathyrus pratensis (Fabaceae); Calendula officinalis, Centaurea jacea (Asteraceae)(Elfving, 1968) and Sonchus (Vegter, 1961).

Banaszak & Romasenko (1989) say that the species is associated with Fabaceae and Lamiaceae.
