Osmia (Melanosmia) parietina CURTIS, 1828

Apparently polylectic, but evidently preferring Fabaceae (Westrich, 1989). Müller (2018) states that the species is polylectic with strong preference for Loteae (Fabaceae). In Britain in has been observed visiting Lotus corniculatus on several occasions (Robinson (1996), who also describes the foraging behaviour of the female). Additional pollen sources include Sedum (Crassulaceae) and possibly also Fragaria (Rosaceae) and Veronica (Plantaginaceae) (Amiet et al., 2004; Westrich, 1989).

Banaszak & Romasenko (1989) report that the species visits Fabaceae and Asteraceae

Flowers visited: Lotus corniculatus (Fabaceae); Rubus fruticosus agg. (Rosaceae) and Ajuga reptans (Lamiaceae).

In Denmark, Schmidt et al (2017) suggest that possible pollen sources could be Trifolium pratense (Fabaceae) or Veronica spp. (Plantaginaceae).

Müller (2018) lists the following pollen sources in the Alps: Lotus, Hippocrepis, Trifolium, Anthyllis (Fabaceae); Lamioideae, Nepetoideae (Lamiaceae); Helianthemum (Cistaceae); Potentilla-type (Rosaceae); Gentianaceae.
