Oligolectic on Lamiaceae (Westrich, 1989, 2018; Pesenko in Banaszak, 1995). The following plants are listed: Ballota, Stachys (=Betonica), Stachys sylvatica (Lamiaceae). Westrich (2018) adds Stachys palustris, Clinopodium vulgare (Lamiaceae) in Germany.
There are records of the species visiting Campanula rotundifolia (Campanulaceae), presumably for nectar (Söderman & Leinonen, 2003)
Pesenko, Banaszak et al. (2000) state the species is oligolectic on various Lamiaceae and list the following forage sources (other plant families are presumably for nectar): Ballota nigra, Stachys (= Betonica) officinalis, Lamium purpureum, Leonurus cardiaca, Stachys palustris, Stachys sylvatica (Lamiaceae); Allium cepa (Liliaceae); Centaurea jacea, Centaurea scabiosa, Jacobaea vulgaris, Taraxacum officinale (Asteraceae); Campanula sp. (Campanulaceae); Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae); Geranium pratense (Geraniaceae); Knautia arvensis (Dipsacaceae); Medicago sp. (Fabaceae); Scrophularia nodosa (Scrophulariaceae); Potentilla sp. (Rosaceae)
In Belgium it visits primarily Stachys officinalis and Ballota nigra (Lamiaceae).
Bogusch (2003) reports a female visiting Ballota nigra (Lamiaceae) in the Czech Republic.
