Polylectic. Pollen sources in Britain not known; visits Brassica (Brassicaceae); Silene maritima (Caryophyllaceae); Trifolium (Fabaceae); Rubus (Rosaceae); Glechoma hederacea (Lamiaceae) and Taraxacum (Asteraceae).
In Germany, collecting pollen from: Leucanthemum vulgare (Asteraceae); Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae); Brassica napus (Brassicaceae); Campanula patula (Campanulaceae) and Salvia pratensis (Lamiaceae)(Westrich, 1989).
In the High Atlas mountains of northern Morocco, the species was found commonly at flowers of Romulea (Liliaceae) (Pers. obs.).
Ebmer reports visits to Salvia pratensis, Lamium (Lamiaceae); Potentilla (Rosaceae); Hieracium, Taraxacum (Asteraceae); Raphanus (Brassicaceae).
