British and Continental pollen sources not known, but probably polylectic
Flowers visited: Brassica rapa (Brassicaceae); Potentilla (Rosaceae); Sedum (Crassulaceae); Calluna vulgaris (Ericaceae); Jasione montana (Campanulaceae); Cirsium, Hypochoeris, Leontodon and Crepis (Asteraceae).
P. Harvey, (pers.comm.) has suggested that this species may have a close association with the flowers of Chamerion angustifolium (Onagraceae) in lowland Britain.
In Germany, Westrich (1989) lists Campanula sp. (Campanulaceae); Acinos arvensis (Lamiaceae) and Euphrasia sp. (Scropulariaceae).
