Mavromoustakis (1938) states that the species is oligolectic on Onobrychis especially Onobrychis venosa (Fabaceae) but Praz (pers. comm 2017) suggests this is somewhat unlikely given the general habits of the genus.
Mavromoustakis (1948; 1951; 1952) lists the following species as forage plants: Echium sericeum (Boraginaceae); Onobrychis venosa, Astragalus cyprius (Fabaceae), some of which will most likely be for nectar.
