Pollen sources not known, but presumed to be polylectic. Flies to Rubus (Rosaceae); Calluna vulgaris (Ericaceae); Anthyllis vulneraria (Fabaceae); Symphytum (Boraginaceae); Lamium album, Glechoma hederacea (Lamiaceae); Senecio, Centaurea (Asteraceae); Hyacinthoides nonscriptus (Liliaceae).

Pawlikowski & Kruszynski (1997) list Taraxacum officinale (Asteraceae); Lamium purpureum (Lamiaceae) and Pyrus communis (Rosaceae) as forage sources in Poland.

In the Netherlands, Peeters, Raemakers & Smit (1999) list Lamium album (Lamiaceae) and Symphytum officinale (Boraginaceae) as important forage plants for emerging queens.

In Spain, Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez (2004) list the following plant families as providing forage: Ericaceae, Fabaceae, Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, Boraginaceae, Rosaceae, Dipsacaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Brassicaceae and Violaceae.

Alireza et al. (2007) list the following forage sources in Iran: Medicago sativa, Vicia sp. (Fabaceae); Citrus sp. (Rutaceae); Salvia virgata, Stachys sp., Lamium album, Marrubium sp.
