Oligolectic. Westrich (2002) states that the nests he investigated were provisioned entirely with Knautia (Dipsacaceae) pollen. He also states that the species will forage at flowers of Scabiosa (Dipsacaceae)
Plants visited include Knautia, Scabiosa (Dipsacaceae); Geranium (Geraniaceae); Hieracium (Asteraceae), some, almost certainly, just as a nectar source (Banaszak & Romasenko,1998).
