Mueller (1996) states that this is a polylectic species, with a strong preference for Lamiaceae.
Mavromoustakis (1960) lists Vitex agnus-castus (Verbenaceae) as a forage source on Rhodos. Mavromoustakis (1948, 1952; 1953) reports visitation to Salvia sp., Teucrium divaricatum, Teucrium cyprium, Nepeta troodi (Lamiaceae) and Calycotome villosa (Fabaceae) on Cyprus.
Pollen analysis (Muller, 1996) revealed the following pollen sources: Lamiaceae with small amounts of Crassulaceae, Fabaceae and Campanulaceae.
