Polylectic. In Germany, foraging from species in the families Campanulaceae, Fabaceae, Liliaceae and Onagraceae (Westrich, 1989).
In Britain, the species is particularly associated with Lotus corniculatus, but it also visits Ononis and Rubus (Fabaceae).
Banaszak & Romasenko (1989), copied by Stanisavljević (2000), and Ivanov et al. (2005) state that the species is oligolectic on Fabaceae, but evidence from Germany refutes this, and suggests that, although the species is polylectic, it does show a marked preference for this family. These authors list the following genera as forage sources: Lotus, Coronilla, Vicia, Caragana, Cytisus, Lathyrus, Trifolium, Lupinus (Fabaceae).
Pawlikowski & Kruszynski (1997) list Sedum acre (Crassulaceae) and Lotus corniculatus (Fabaceae) as forage sources in Poland.
