Oligolectic on Fabaceae (Pesenko in Banaszak, 1995; Westrich, 2018). An important pollinator of Fabaceae crops. Known to collect pollen from Coronilla varia and Medicago sativa (Fabaceae)
Pesenko, Banaszak et al. (2000) state that the species specialises in Fabaceae pollen and list Trifolium pratense, Trifolium repens, Medicago sativa, Medicago falcata, Medicago media and Lotus corniculatus. They also report visits to Knautia arvensis (Dipsacaceae); Convolvulus arvensis (Convolvulaceae); Symphytum officinale (Boraginaceae); Scrophularia nodosa (Scrophulariaceae); Ballota nigra (Lamiaceae); Plantago media (Plantaginaceae); Allium cepa (Liliaceae); Centaurea cyanus, Taraxacum officinale, Cirsium arvense and Tanacetum vulgare (Asteraceae). These latter species probably represent nectar sources.
The Atlas Hymenoptera website (BE) lists Medicago sativa, Medicago falcata (Fabaceae) as pollen sources. Westrich (2018) also lists these species.
Also reported in Grace (2010) at Tamarix (Tamaricaceae).
