A polylectic species. Flowers visited include: Phyteuma hemisphaerica (Campanulaceae); Solidago virgaurea (Asteraceae); Gentiana acaulis (Gentianaceae).

(Salicaceae); Silene vulgaris (Caryophyllaceae); Trollius europaeus (Ranunculaceae); Lotus alpinus (Fabaceae); Lavatera cretica (Malvaceae); Epilobium angustifolium (Onagraceae); Eryngium bourgatii (Apiaceae); Rhododendron sp., Rhododendron ferrugineum, Vaccinium myrtillus (Ericaceae); Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae); Sideritis hyssopifolia, Acinos alpinus (Lamiaceae); Linaria repens, Rhinanthus angustifolius (Scrophulariaceae); Globularia sp., Knautia sp. (Dipsacaceae); Phyteuma orbiculare, Phyteuma hemisphaericum, Jasione crispa (Campanulaceae); Carduus carlinoides, Cirsium sp (Asteraceae); Allium schoenoprasum (Liliaceae)

Celary, Fijal and Kosior (2002) state that the species is broadly polylectic. In Poland it is reported to visit 63 species of plants from 22 families. Favoured plants are Crocus scepusiensis (Iridaceae), Carduus, Cirsium (Asteraceae) and Vaccinium (Ericaceae)

In Spain, Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez (2004) list the following plant families as providing forage: Ericaceae, Gentianaceae, Asteraceae and Rosaceae.

Bossert (2014) reports foraging at Campanula barbata (Campanulaceae) in the Austrian Tyrol
