Probably a polylectic species; Observed at flowers of Tamarix (Tamaricaceae) on Lesvos.

Ebmer (1971) lists Inula (Asteraceae) and Suaeda (Chenopodiaceae) as forage plants.

Mavromoustakis (1948; 1952) (listing under Halictus carneiventris) reports visitation in Cyprus to Limonium virgata (Plumbaginaceae); Inula crithmoides, Dittrichia (=Inula) viscosa (Asteraceae); Nerium oleander (Apocyanaceae); Polygonum equisetiforme (Polygonaceae); Chrozophora tinctoria (=Crozophora verbascifolia)(Euphorbiaceae)
