Hoplitis (Alcidamea) tridentata (Dufour & Perris, 1840)

Oligolectic on various species of Fabaceae(Pesenko in Banaszak, 1995).

Banaszak & Romasenko (1989)(subsequently copied by Stanisavljević, 2000) list plants in the following genera as forage sources: Vicia, Coronilla, Hippocrepis and Onobrychis (Fabaceae)

Rust et al (2004) cite Lotus corniculatus (Fabaceae) as a pollen forage source.

The species is said to be a strict oligolege of Fabaceae (Amiet et al., 2004; Banaszak and Romasenko, 2001; Westrich, 1989). Indeed, 9 out of 11 pollen samples analysed so far consist of pure Fabaceae pollen; however, two pollen samples from the same locality contain large amounts of pollen of Echium (Boraginaceae). Thus, the species might be better classified as polylectic with a strong preference for Fabaceae (A. Müller, unpublished, based on 11 pollen samples from 9 different localities).
