Panurginus montanus Giraud, 1861

Polylectic (10 plant families) with affinity for Potentilla (Rosaceae) and Helianthemum (Cistaceae)(Müller,2018). Müller also lists: Ranunculaceae; Brassicaceae; Euphrasia-type (Orobanchaceae); Caryophyllaceae; Saxifraga (Saxifragaceae); Crassulaceae; Apiaceae; Asteraceae (Cichorioideae)

Müller (2018) contradicts the assumption that P. montanus is specialized to Asteraceae (Westrich 1989). Blüthgen (1952) observed several females visiting the flowers of Geranium sylvaticum L. (Geraniaceae), suggesting that Geranium might be an additional pollen host.

Bossert (2014) reports foraging at Leontodon hispidus (Asteraceae) and Potentilla sp. (Rosaceae) in the Austrian Tyrol

Hopfenmüller (2017)(cited in Westrich 2018) documented, without distinguishing between nectaring and pollen collecting, visititation by females to the following plant species: Tolpis staticifolia, Leontodon hispidus (Asteraceae); Biscutella laevigata (Brassicaceae); Euphrasia rostkoviana (Orobanchaceae); Parnassia palustris (Parnassiaceae); Ranunculus acris, Ranunculus montanus (Ranunculaceae); Potentilla erecta (Rosaceae).
