Oligolectic, specialising on Fabaceae ((Amiet et al., 2004; Banaszak and Romasenko, 2001; Benoist, 1931; Gogala, 1999; Westrich, 1989; A. Müller, unpublished, based on 1 pollen sample and on field observations). One pollen sample from Portugal was found to contain pollen of Echium (Boraginaceae) (A. Müller, unpublished).
Westrich (1989) lists Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium repens and Hippocrepis comosa (Fabaceae) as pollen sources.
