Almost certainly a polylectic species: Flower visits are reported from: Heracleum sphondylium, Daucus carota (Apiaceae), Cirsium vulgare (Asteraceae), Potentilla erecta and Rubus fruticosus (Rosaceae)(Westrich, 1989).
Celary (1999) lists the following forage plants in Poland: Daucus carota, Heracleum sphondylium (Apiaceae); Cirsium vulgare, Solidago gigantea (Asteraceae); Potentilla erecta, Rubus fruticosus (Rosaceae). Celary & Wisniowski (2001) add Angelica archangelica (Apiaceae) as a forage source
In Finland, the following species are noted: Pimpinella saxifraga, Angelica sylvestris, Aegopodium podagraria (Apiaceae), Achillea millefolium, Tanacetum, Centaurea cyanus (Asteraceae)(Söderman & Leinonen, 2003)
