Hylaeus (Hylaeus) communis NYLANDER, 1852

Polylectic: Pollen sources in the British Isles not known, though it is considered to be polylectic as it is in Germany, where it forages for pollen from Daucus carota, Aegopodium podagraria (Apiaceae); Cirsium arvense, Cirsium vulgars, Achillea millefolium, Achillea filipendulina, Tanacetum vulgare, Solidago canadensis, Crepis biennis, Leontodon autumnalis (Asteraceae); Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae); Sinapis arvensis (Brassicaceae); Campanula rotundifolia (Campanulaceae); Sedum reflexum (Crassulaceae); Galeopsis angustifolia (Lamiaceae); Allium sphaerocephalon, Allium porrum, Allium cepa (Liliaceae); Lythrum salicaria (Lythraceae) and Reseda luteola (Resedaceae)(Westrich, 1989).

Pawlikowski & Kruszynski (1997) list Echium vulgare (Boraginaceae); Jasione montana (Campanulaceae); Tanacetum vulgare (Asteraceae); Potentilla argentea, Rubus idaeus, Sorbaria sorbifolia (Rosaceae) as forage sources in Poland

Spain it is reported to visit Polygonaceae, Resedaceae, Crassulaceae, Rosaceae, Fabaceae, Geraniaceae, Apiaceae, Ericaceae, Plumbaginaceae, Boraginaceae, Lamiaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Campanulaceae and Asteraceae. (Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez, 2004).
