Lasioglossum (Sphecodogastra) malachurum (Kirby, 1802)

In many coastal sites it frequents clay soils, sometimes at the top of beaches. In other areas, particularly inland, the bee is found on light, sandy soils, including commons and sand pits; occasionally chalk downland. (GB)

A wide range of habitats in agricultural areas including valley slopes with thermophilous vegetation, grass and shrub communities, marginal areas (eg roadside verges, Irrigation ditches near maize (Zea mays) fields, ditch edges) and cultivated fields of Radish (Raphanus sativus ‘Omega’), Sunflower (Helianthus annuus), Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) and Oilseed Rape (Brassica napus)(BG)
