Bombus (Melanobombus) lapidarius (Linnaeus, 1758)

Open habitats, meadows and pastures, roadsides and gardens (ES).

A virtually ubiquitous bee, although it prefers dry, well-drained soils and is consequently most numerous on open calcareous grassland and on coastal dunes and cliff sites (GB).

Found in a wide range of habitats, including parks and gardens but most often associated with flower rich sites. (IE)
